The Airbus A320neo (Next Engine Option) represents the latest and most advanced development of the A320 family, originally launched by Airbus in the 1980’s. Designed for greater efficiency and performance, the A320neo competes directly with the Boeing 737 MAX family and has proven extremely successful, capturing around 60% of the market by 2019.
Today, more than 4000 A320neo family aircraft have been produced, with over 11,500 orders placed at the time this tag was released.
The tag in your possession has been crafted from an Airbus A320neo registered G-UZLP. The aircraft is an active member of the easyJet fleet and, at the time of this release, was only around 2.5 years old.
Early in its service life, “Lima Papa” experienced a lightning strike to the upper section of the cockpit, impacting the panel around the letter “P”. The aircraft underwent specialist repair work at Lasham Airfield, carried out by 2Excel Engineering, where the damaged fuselage panel was carefully replaced.
The removed panel was later upcycled by the Fuselage Creations team, transforming this piece of aviation history into unique collectable tags for aviation enthusiasts around the world to enjoy.
