Description

Another triumph of a tag from Skyline Tags. As usual, very limited quantity and beautifully made

The Junkers Ju 88 was a highly versatile German twin-engine aircraft used extensively by the Luftwaffe during the Second World War. First flown in 1936, it served in multiple roles including medium bomber, dive bomber, night fighter, reconnaissance aircraft, and torpedo bomber.

Powered by Junkers Jumo engines, the Ju 88 combined good speed, range, and adaptability, making it one of Germany’s most successful wartime aircraft designs. Over 15,000 units were built, and it remained in frontline service from the opening stages of the war through to Germany’s defeat. earning a reputation as one of the most flexible and effective aircraft of its era.

This tag was cut from authentic skin of a Ju 88 aircraft that was damaged by enemy fire during a bombing mission over Cesis and ultimately crashed near Nitaure, Latvia. This event likely occurred during the Battle of the Courland Pocket.
