FUSELAGE CREATIONS BOEING 747 G-CIVL

Description

The Boeing 747 – the legendary ‘Queen of the Skies’ returns to Fuselage Creations, this time in the iconic colours of British Airways. The ‘Jumbo’ enjoyed a long and distinguished career with BA, flying under the famed ‘Speedbird’ callsign for half a century. Between April 1970 and June 2020, the airline operated 94 Boeing 747s across multiple variants. The most prominent was the 747-400, with 57 aircraft joining the fleet between 1989 and 1999. Sadly, the reign of the Speedbird Jumbos came to an early end in 2020, as the global drop in air travel brought on by Covid-19 accelerated their retirement.

Your tag has been crafted from the fuselage of 747-400 G-CIVL, known as ‘Victor Lima’. Delivered new to British Airways in 1997, she served faithfully for more than two decades. In 2009, this Rolls-Royce powered Jumbo received the special OneWorld alliance livery – a striking design that set her apart from her ‘Union Jack’ adorned sister ships.

On 14 April 2020, Victor Lima completed her final flight from London Heathrow to Kemble, Cotswold, where she was dismantled the following year. In 2025, British aviation enthusiast Chris Goodwin, owner of CLZ Aviation, recovered select components from the aircraft and partnered with the Fuselage Creations team to create these iconic Speedbird tags, allowing aviation enthusiasts around the world to own a piece of BA history.
