FUSELAGE CREATIONS BOEING 757 D-ABOL

Description

The Boeing 757 is a well-established airliner within Fuselage Creations, with several examples already released as tags and many more still to come! But today, we are introducing something extra special: the legendary ‘long-pencil’ of the family, the Boeing 757-300.

 The 757-300 is the stretched-fuselage variant of the original 757, and it proudly holds the title of the longest single-aisle twinjet ever built. To maximise the already impressive performance of the 757, Boeing extended the aircraft’s fuselage to increase its capacity, allowing seating for up to 280 passengers.

The remarkable capabilities of this ‘stretched pencil’ quickly caught the attention of German charter and leisure airline Condor, which became the launch customer of the ‘300’ in 1996. Moreover, Condor loved the 300 ‘stretch’ so much that they operated 15 examples over the years alongside 18 of the standard 757- 200s. The 757-300 entered service in 1999 with its German launch customer, but despite its standout performance, it never achieved the same popularity as its shorter sibling, with only 55 aircraft ever built.

The tag in your possession has been crafted from D-ABOL, a Boeing 757-300 that entered service in April 2000 and spent its entire career with Condor. In late May 2025, the aircraft was flown to St Athan in the UK, where it was retired and broken up. Since 2023, ‘Oscar Lima’ has swapped its classic Condor colours for the striking green striped ‘Green Island’ livery, the colour that grew on aviation enthusiast over time, and is now preserved forever in the form of this tag.
