Description
On the 9th of November 1970 this Antonov AN-12BK has entered its service career, as CCCP-11303, in the Soviet Air Force.
Being designed by the Antonov Design Bureau in Kyiv (Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic) this particular airframe, factory number 00347604 was built on Tashkent Aviation Plant (Uzbekistan Soviet Socialist Republic), one of 3 factories, which produced the serial AN-12.
Airframe 303 was produced in the new, and one of the latest modifications at the time, BK (article – TBK), having being fitted with the latest on board equipment, new AI-20 series engines and having undergone Cargo Area modifications, making this variant a popular option as a cargo hauler after 1991.
On the verge of the new century, in 1998, it was time for this Antonov to start its new commercial life with Veteran Airways, as UR-11303 where it served up until 2002.
With a brief pause in flying career, 303 found a new life with Ukrainian Cargo Airways in 2007 where it briefly served as UR-UCN.
In 2010 Charlie November flew to Zaporizhya International Airport, where during the process of undergoing maintenance, the airline it served for collapsed. Unfortunately, this Antonov newer found a new home again and gradually became decommissioned in July of 2020.
During the years of active service, AN-12BK has made a total of 4,449 landings and 6,398 hours in the air.
