Description

On the 1st of November 1992 a newly formed airline was created – Air Ukraine International (ICAO: AUI). The airline was a subsidiary of Air Ukraine, which ceased its operations in 2004.

Ukraine International quickly became a safe and reliable connection between Ukraine and Europe. A vital role in this service played the Boeing 737 family aircraft. Ukraine International Airlines was the first carrier in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) to have acquired this type of aircraft.

Over the operational history, UIA operated almost every series of the Boeing 737 aircraft – the Original, the Classic and New Generation. At one time Ukraine International had the 737 MAX Series on order, which was already built and painted in the company colors, but due to the lengthy grounding of the type, never taken up by the carrier.

Currently Ukraine International operates Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft, service of which was firstly introduced with the airline on 24th of July 2009. The piece of the ‘737’ in your hands belongs to a Next Gen family aircraft – a Boeing 737-800WL with line number: 477.

Prior to joining the UIA fleet in 2016, the ‘477’ operated for two previous airlines – SunExpress (Turkey) and China Xinhua Airlines.

The aircraft served with Ukraine International Airlines for just under 6 years, carrying the registration UR-PSN. Sierra November flew its last commercial sector on the 10th of November 2021 from Sharm-El-Sheikh to Kyiv. The final flight of UR-PSN took place on 15th of December 2021, lifting for the final time from Kyiv Boryspil Airport and landed at St Athan, in the UK.

In the spring of 2022, Fuselage Creations in cooperation with Airskinz and the help of eCube Solutions, was able to preserve this aircraft for enthusiasts around the world.
