Description
🐆 JH-7 Skin: The Maritime Flying Leopard
This artifact comes from the JH-7 (歼轰-7), known by NATO as the “Flounder” but affectionately called the “Flying Leopard” (飞豹 – Fēibào) in China. This is not the later “A” model; it is a rare piece of the original early JH-7 production run, a dedicated anti-ship fighter-bomber that served at the forefront of the PLAN Naval Aviation Force (PLANAF).
The Predator of the High Seas
The JH-7 was designed with a single, lethal purpose: to strike carrier battle groups and surface vessels from long range.
- Maritime Specialist: As an anti-ship fighter-bomber, the JH-7 was the first Chinese aircraft capable of carrying heavy YJ-series anti-ship missiles, making it a critical asset for coastal defense and blue-water operations.
- The Early Variant: Unlike the modernized JH-7A, the early JH-7 represents the initial, rugged engineering that first proved the “Flying Leopard” concept, serving as the backbone of the PLANAF for decades.
The Artifact: Engineered for Power and Durability
This release features two distinct materials recovered from the rear section of the aircraft, representing both the “heart” and the “skin” of the Flying Leopard.
- The Combustion Chamber (Titanium Alloy): This fragment comes from the high-temperature zone of the engine’s nozzle assembly. Crafted from advanced titanium alloy, this material was built to withstand the extreme thermal stress of sustained high-speed maritime flight. It is a rare look at the aerospace metallurgy required to power a heavy strike fighter.
- Lower Tail Fuselage (Aluminum Alloy): This piece is taken from the lower portion of the rear fuselage. It features the signature PLANAF Tactical Gray paint over a high-strength aluminum alloy skin. This area of the airframe endured significant structural stress and environmental wear during years of low-altitude ocean patrols.
Redacted Service: A Legacy of the Mission
For reasons of operational sensitivity, specific serial numbers have been removed from these pieces. This removal is a direct testament to the aircraft’s history of active-duty naval service—a piece of hardware that was “too close to the mission” to be fully identified.
Availability
We are offering two unique engineering variants of the early JH-7 Flying Leopard:
- Titanium Combustion Chamber Variant (Heat-treated aerospace titanium from the nozzle area)
- Tactical Gray Fuselage Variant (Aluminum alloy skin from the lower tail section)
