RAWTAG #01: SARO SKEETER AOP12

Grab yourself a piece of GENUINE 1957 SARO Skeeter Rotor Fabric!
Limited edition of just 60 pieces.

These unusual tags are made from actual Skeeter rotor fabric removed from a main rotor prior to its restoration. This primitive machine used metal spar rotors with wooden ribs and fabric covered skin. So different to the modern composites on current helicopters.
The Skeeter served with the British Army in the 1950’s and was one of the first generation production helicopters. Underpowered, but delightful to fly.

The Tags are carefully cut, individually numbered by hand and set in a large plastic keyring. Attached to an attractive backing card.
They are supplied cut, shaped and wiped clean. All ‘In service’ marks are left as they are. One side is still retaining the camouflage green paint it was finished with, the other shows the weave of the fabric and the tightening dope glue application.

Once gone, they are truly gone. Just sixty have been produced and there is no more fabric left.
